We provide our clients with teams ranging from junior accountants to CFOs on a project basis or for interim management roles.
In the role of Head of Accounting (internal title: Manager), you will take on or manage projects for our clients. Working independently or in small teams, you will address accounting-related issues and help ensure that we meet our quality standards. As a Project Lead, you will also independently organize and manage projects and serve as the point of contact for project members and clients.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Management & Leadership: Independently implementing and managing accounting and back-office projects
Accounting & Financial Statements: Independently managing day-to-day bookkeeping and preparing monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB)
Interim Leadership Roles: Taking on interim leadership roles (e.g., team lead or head of accounting) at our clients' companies
Optimization & Automation: Identification and implementation of efficient processes for day-to-day accounting as well as monthly and annual financial statements, and selection and implementation of appropriate finance and ERP tools
Stakeholder Management: Collaboration with tax advisors, auditors, CFOs, and tax authorities
Client-Specific Topics: IFRS Reporting, Intercompany Allocations and Consolidation, Local GAAP...
- Project-based collaboration with clients: primarily remote, but also on-site as needed
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE:
Several years of relevant experience, including leadership responsibilities—preferably at a medium-sized company, a startup, or a consulting firm
A strong knowledge of the German Commercial Code (HGB) is a must. A basic understanding of IFRS, other GAAP standards, and consolidation is a plus.
Further training as an accountant or comparable qualifications are a plus
Excellent knowledge of at least one accounting or ERP system(e.g., DATEV Accounting, SAP, or Business Central) and experience with various modern finance tools (e.g., Spendesk, Pleo, Circula...)
Excellent Excel/Google Sheets skills, a strong aptitude for working with numbers, and an eye for opportunities for optimization
Strong communication skills in German (at least C1) and English (at least B2)
Enjoyment of team leadership, coaching, project management, and employee development
- You're interested in varied project work and want to support clients remotely or on a project-by-project basis, and to a limited extent, on-site as well
