Working closely with our clients, our consultants create transparency through scalable financial processes, clean data, and intelligent tools. We provide our clients with teams ranging from junior accountants to CFOs on a project basis or for interim management roles.
In the role of Director of Accounting (internal title: Principal), you will take on or manage projects for our clients. Working either independently or in small teams, you will address accounting-related issues and help ensure we meet our quality standards. As a Project Lead, you will independently organize and manage projects and serve as the point of contact for project members and clients.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:Project Management & Leadership: Independently implementing and managing accounting and back-office projects
Accounting & Financial Statements: Working on relevant accounting topics for our clients, such as preparing annual financial statements—including the management report and notes—or consolidated financial statements, including consolidation in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Interim Leadership Roles: Filling interim leadership positions (e.g., Head of Finance or Director of Accounting) at our clients’ companies
Optimization & Automation: Identification and implementation of efficient processes for accounting and monthly and annual financial statements, as well as the selection and implementation of appropriate finance and ERP tools
Stakeholder Management: Collaboration with tax advisors, auditors, investors, CFOs, and tax authorities
- Business Development: Support for business development through up-selling and cross-selling within existing client accounts.
- Project-based collaboration with clients: primarily remote, but also on-site as needed
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE TABLE:- Relevant professional experience, e.g., as Head of Finance or Director of Accounting— preferably at a medium-sized company, a startup, or a consulting firm
- Additional qualifications, such as a degree in accounting or experience in tax consulting or auditing
- Excellent knowledge of accounting in accordance with the German Commercial Code (HGB), as well as knowledge of IFRS or other local GAAP
Very good knowledge of at least one accounting or ERP system(e.g., DATEV Accounting, SAP, or Business Central)
Experience with various modern finance tools (e.g., Spendesk, Pleo, Circula...) as well as process automationand optimization
- Experience with other specialized accounting topics, such as OSS, intercompany allocations, IFRS, international payroll, corporate structures...
Extensive experience in team leadership, coaching, project management, and employee development
- Excellent communication skills in German and English (approx. C1)
- You're interested in varied project work and want to support clients remotely or on a project-by-project basis, and to a limited extent, on-site as well
